Shoes4School's 2009 First Annual 5K
"Walk A Mile In My Shoes"
Walk-A-Thon
On May 2, 2009 Students, Parents, Teachers, Community members, and many committed volunteers will raise awareness, funds, and support for Keep Kids In School’s/Shoes4School Program. Shoes 4 School a non-profit organization provides new Shoes to KIN (Kids In Need). Walkers will be participating in the 1st Annual 5K “Walk A Mile In My Shoes” Walk-a-Thon throughout the beautiful Oyster Creek Park on Hwy 6 in Sugar Land.
To Bring awareness to the benefits of Physical Activity in Childhood Obesity and Juvenile Diabetes.
Each walkathon participant strives to build a better world for thousands of KIN (Kids in Need) by raising funds that translate into many community services such as but not limited to:
New shoes,
Backpacks,
School supplies and
Sporting goods (Get out and Play initiative)
School Equipment
By becoming involved in these walks:
Our children can raise their self esteem through the gift of new shoes as well as participate in more physical activities. Our Kids That Are Not In Need Can Learn the True Meaning of Compassion by donating and sharing with other K.I.N. (Kids In Need).
These activities further serve to enhance Children's learning abilities just by being more physically active! In addition, empowering underprivileged girls and boys with education and investing in needy children and youths.
These activities are a reflection of how each walkathon participant can assist Shoes4School.org in our Mission to Reach Children and Change Lives One Pair at a Time™
Bring a pair of new or slightly worn children's shoes for ages K-12 and receive a juicy filled goody bag and 5 free raffle tickets!
